Getting to know Pia Jane Jacobs

Please tell us about your journey up to now? I started modelling last year, but with my studies and work I couldn’t really give it much attention. So this year I signed with a new agency and basically started all over again, this time with 100% and enjoying every moment.

Who is the first person you called when you found out that you’re a finalist? My oldest and best friend Cindy-Maree. I’m with her 5 days a week so she had to hear about the World Swimsuit SA competition almost every day!

What is your Signature physical feature? I’d like to think my lips and I really like my beauty spots.

You’re in great shape; tell us a bit about your exercise regime: I enjoy being outdoors, so I love to hike and cycle. I gym about 3 times a week, with lots of kettle bell exercises and I make sure that I run twice a week.

What are Beauty essentials for you? Mascara and red lipstick.

What is your skincare secret? Getting enough sleep and drinking lots of water has such a positive impact. Never sleep with make-up on and moisturise every day.

If you had to pick one feature to make-up… Eyes or lips: Lips.

Air-dry or blowout: Air-dry. I love hair in its natural state.

What is the best advice you ever got from your mom: To never settle for less than what I deserve.

Best advice from the pros: Invest in your skin and body, travel while you can and have a positive attitude!

Drugstore favourite: Aqueous cream. Great for removing make-up and light on the skin and Epsom salts!

Fragrance of choice: Miss Dior Cherie L’eau

Who is your icon? Victoria Beckham.

Where has been your favourite location to shoot? So far, I don’t have a favourite but I’m always eager to shoot at new locations.

What is your favourite city to visit? New York. Well it’s on my wish list!

Name one thing on your bucket list… To be on Broadway. Even if it’s just my script.

Who is your favourite photographer to work with? Ferdinand Van Huizen is a real gem.

Do you like to cook? What is your favourite dish? I do! Anything with seafood.

A bit of a naughty question… Do you have a beau? Unfortunately not.

If not… What does a guy need to do to win your heart? He needs to have a great sense of humour, be respectful and well groomed. He needs to be empathetic and passionate and have lots of patience.
