Recently the coveted cover girl of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit opened up about her distain for the popular clothing line among young females, Forever 21. She told DuJour Magazine in an interview about how the popular fashion line once fired her for being “too fat”.
Now, this seems absolutely absurd to anyone with eyes but none the less she explained, “Forever 21, they booked me directly when I was much younger. And I showed up on set, and they asked me if they could take a photo, and they shoot that photo off to my agency, who then calls me as I'm sitting in the makeup chair. And they say, 'You need to leave right now. They just said you are fat, and you need to come get your measurements taken.'"
Teigen hasn’t forgotten the critical moment in her career. What would have broken most models in the industry, instead seemed to serve as pure motivation. But that doesn’t mean she’s forgiven the clothing line for dissing her. Teigen told DuJour, “ I hate you, Forever 21. I hate you so much. Honestly, you’re the worst.”
I don’t think we will be seeing Teigen in any Forever 21 ads anytime soon, but keep looking for her here on World Swimsuit.
